The program provides up to six one-hour sessions per family member with a counsellor and aims to support and assist young people facing challenges in their lives, such as:

  • Relationship issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Risk-taking behaviours
  • Self-harm
  • Behavioural issues
  • Bullying
  • Stress and anxiety
  • Grief and loss

Sessions can consist of counselling (talk therapy) and/or more creative therapies as deemed appropriate by the worker and the young person. These can involve the young person on their own, or with a support person or family members as needed.

We work in co-operation with any other supports and can provide referrals for young people who may have issues that need specialised care, such as:

  • Drug and alcohol support
  • Suicidal and mental health support
  • Alternative education programs
  • Legal assistance
  • Homelessness assistance

Access

Resolve is a free service for young people aged 12 to 25, located at Gateway Health – 155 High Street, Wodonga.

We also provide outreach to local schools, the family home, or anywhere else that is appropriate and comfortable.

Sessions are fortnightly and usually go for one hour.

Phone Gateway Health reception staff on 02 6022 8888 and ask to speak to our Resolve intake service for an assessment.

If you are referring someone else, ask the person being referred whether they are comfortable with you making a referral for them. This is a voluntary service and they need to agree to come.

Please note: There is a waitlist as many young people need this service – urgent cases will be prioritised.
